American actress Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19, 1959. In her nearly three decades, Allison Brooks Janney has been praised as a stage actress and a film actor for her performances. Janney was honored with various awards including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The actress also won seven Primetime Emmy Awards. She also received nominations to win the two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised at Dayton (Ohio). Her scholarship allowed her to study at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following her graduation from Kenyon College. Janney was first seen on television in 1999 with the character C. J. Cregg, a role she played on NBC's political drama The West Wing (1999 to 2006) and won four Primetime Emmy Awards. For her role in"Masters of Sex," a Showtime series Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress In a Drama Series. Janney is nominated to win six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she won twice the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Drama Series.
